The Beginning.

The Beginning.

First of all, I’d like to say, “Welcome to The B&V Blogs” My name is Tiffany and I’m the owner of The Branch and the Vine. I’m also an Interior Designer by day, and Creative Director of a new, start-up Not-For-Profit Organization called Thriving Kids Care Society. It may look like I have everything all figured out, with all my different roles in the career world, but I can definitely tell you that I do not.

Everyday, I question what I should really be doing in life, but more importantly, I always question what God wants me to do. As a young adult slowly growing out of the “young adult category” and into the “you should be more of an adult who’s got a stable job with steady income category,” it puts a lot of pressure as I wonder if my dream of starting my own thing is just plain crazy.

Starting a company or any sort of business is hard. It’s a lot of work and sometimes very little return in the beginning. And it’s usually at this point where one questions, is this the right thing to do? And everyday I question if I should be doing this instead of just finding a full time job at an interior design firm and work there 40 hours a week, from 9 to 5, come home and be happy that I’m making stable income.

But as I go through my walk in life and share conversations with my loved ones, close friends and acquaintances, it always breaks my heart when I learn of the struggles they’ve been dealing with, whether it may be their job, loss, or not knowing their purpose in life. And it’s then that I knew I was meant to use my art and love for Christ to spread a bit of joy, encouragement and love to people I touch.

I’ve needed Christ since I was young and He has been my rock through all my obstacles, insecurities and sadness. Therefore, I hope to not only introduce people to Christ, but also strengthen their faith through my work. I want to create things that serve as constant reminders of His words and unending love for us. But I also hope that my work will inspire others to step out of their comfort zone and overcome their fear of change, so that they can use their God-given talents to achieve their dreams, no matter how big or small. May this be everyone’s daily reminder that “[You] can do all things through Christ who strengthens [us]” (Philippians 4:13).

I’m not an English major. I’m not always gramatically correct. Nor am I pastor or anything of that sort. But what I am is a girl who loves Christ, has a passion for drawing and creating, and a dream of making a small difference in even just one person’s life: through my creations and the things I write. I want to be as transparent and real as possible.
